Don't get me wrong, Brees had a great year as well. However, Rodgers was clearly the best QB in the NFL this year and had an all-time great season for a QB, imo.

He was head and shoulders the best QB in the NFL this year. Can't really argue that.

All the records set by Brees would beg to differ.

Rodgers is a system QB. Media hates NOLA.

In what way did Rodgers have a better year?

INTs and ypc are the only two metrics I see

Brees broke a 30 year old yardage record and improved upon his own completion % record.

I know you like to troll, but Brees had a better year. The Packers had a better year than the Saints, that's why Rodgers won

If Rodgers had an all-time great year, then Drew had an all-time greater year

Brees basically threw more passes and had a better completion percentage. Rodgers had a higher YPA, better TD to attempt ratio, and better TD to int ratio.

Ding Ding Ding

Also, this isn't baseball. Stats aren't the only important thing when factoring who is the MVP.

those are pretty big metrics. But the biggest thing--rightly or wrongly--is that the Packers went 15-1 to the Saints' 13-3 and they won the head to head. When the seasons were that close, team records was the tie breaker.

And he was rewarded with the Offensive Player of the Year.

didn't AR have a higher QB Rating...and his team had a better record.

And how many other quarterbacks bested that yard mark this year? 2? 3?

Aaron Rodgers had the highest quarterback rating in a season of all-time. His 9.2 yards per attempt for 2011 is the 12th highest of all-time and almost a full yard above Brees' this year. His Adjusted Yards per attempt is the highest in NFL history and nearly 2 full yards better than Brees. His INT% was 1.2% (second to Alex Smith this year and 15th all-time) to Brees' 2.1%. Rodgers' touchdown % was 9.0% to Brees' 7.0%. He had one more touchdown in less games and pass attempts than Brees did as well.

There is absolutely no argument for Brees being either better than Aaron Rodgers or having a better year than him.

Seeing as Flynn comes in and the offense was better I would say Brees is more valuable.

not trying to flame or be an arse, but how is that an argument? i've never heard anyone give a good explanation as to how that is a valid reason to hurt AR
