8th Grade CSAL Elite 8 Bracket Released
The sad thinkg is you are serious. I bet you actually draw up a bracket at home like the NCAA elite 8. Do you start a pool among your other NERD jr. sprots fans?

As long as my alma mater STM wins it all then I will be happy. They use to be dominate back in my heyday.
Things are a little diff. at STM these days. But hey the teams in Asia do good in the olympics so STM might have a chance this year in the CSAL

I believe Jerry Guillott is still the AD.

He's a good guy, dont get me wrong. But, he would be the reason Aloysuis has been mediocre overall forthe last 20 years. They need to get a young guy in there in place of Guillot that has some fire.

I mean, its been about 15 years since Ive been around Aloysius, but when I was, I thought Guillot was on his last leg. I cant believe he is still there. Wow.

Can we get past who is a bigger nerd and move on to important things - like the match ups for the elite 8? I saw someone on here post that Catholic might spring the upset in the first round. Your thoughts BearTiger? I don't see it. Not after the loss of their big man. There was also someone on here posting about the officiating. BT - any difference on how they call the games in the elite 8 vs regular season? - if so do you think this will effect the outcome of a game or 2?

I have to agree with you here. When Catholic lost their 6'3" center to the Freshman Baseball team, I thought they would crumble, but they have held together and won 3 league games in a row. I hear that they were missing at least one other starter in those games to injury. They should be in full force for the Elite 8, but I doubt they will have enough firepower for STM. STM is just too big and strong.

I think the officials will definitely call a tighter game in the Elite 8 than they did in the regular season. Officials tend to call the games tighter in big games, and all of these games are big. I believe they traditionally have a 3 man crew instead of a 2 man crew in the championship game. We should expect to see the best officials officiating this tournament.

If youre talking about the guy at STM in 8th grade, then you are wrong. He just turned 15. I know him BTW.

8th graders love this tournament since it's at Catholic High School. Word around the league is that St. Michaels will be getting the better players.

Whos the coach at St Michaels now? I heard Fernandez got the boot last year. Is that true?

Drew Hart is the head coach now, 2nd year, and doing a fantastic job. He was Emlo's assistant for several years. He's got his guys doing some really good stuff, and he's more motivating in a positive way and is relating to the players very well. I saw them play last nite, and beat Broadmoor, although Broadmoor is really struggling, yet explosive at times.

Good for St. Michaels however overall I've heard this CSAL class is not that strong.

Do they have some imported (Recruited) Asians on the team?
