Kyle Petty had some interesting things to say on the post race yesterday:
Between the time that Kyle's dad won his first title in 64 and Dale, Sr.won his first in 80 was 16 years. Between then and Gordon's first title in 95 was 15 years. 11 years between then and Jimmie's first title in '06. And now 14 years between then and Chase winning yesterday.
So IOW, it's about 15 years between one generational driver's run ending and another generational driver's run beginning. Yesterday was the beginning of another cycle and the torch being passed from Jimmie to Chase. This ain't the last title that kid is winning.
