Tennis Channel just showed the graphic. Should read Miami 2005.

Are the five favorites for the French Nadal, Thiem, Djokovic, Wawrinka and Zverev?

Ha, I was just thinking that I would not be surprised if Zverev or Thiem is holding the trophy three weeks from today and that it's a four horse race with Nadal and Djokovic, too. I don't think Stan has been playing much, but he's always a threat once he gets through the first week.

Just heard Agassi will be Novak's new coach. That should be interesting.

The odds still have Murray ahead of Wawrinka and Zverev, and about even with Thiem, but I don't think anyone in their right mind would take Murray at this point.

Free contest for the French Open if anyone is interested. There's 20 prizes, with the grand prize being tickets to the 2018 final.

How does the contest work (before I create an account)?

Kudla, Kozlov, Klahn, Opelka, Smyczek, Mcdonald, and Frantagelo (former French Open Jr. winner) all into the second round of qualies.

I didn't play last year, but it sounds like you have a team of 8 players for each round. 1 captain (3x points), 3 key players (2x points), and 4 regular players. You get points based off the difference in ATP or WTA rankings, if your player wins of course.
So I'm guessing if Rafa beats someone like Sock, you get more points than if Joker beats an Opelka type. And if Sock beats Rafa you probably get a ton of points, but you risk scoring a zero and having to use a trade on Sock for the next round.
It's a French game translated to English, so expect the unexpected.

Nice. I thought Opelka was done last night when I went to sleep.

Met Gil Reyes tonight. Some of you older guys probably know a lot more about him than me. He was working with some college players, one of which was William Blumberg from UNC. I don't follow college tennis, but apparently he went 30-2 or something and made the men's singles final as a freshman.
Gil said Joker will be doing some training in Vegas with he and Agassi. We talked about how Roger and Rafa have ramped up the aggression in their games, and that Joker probably needs to do the same now that he's getting older. I wouldn't be surprised to see Joker working on getting stronger in the near future.
Csb, I know, but it was actually sort of cool to me.

Haas joins the elite like Donskoy on the list of players to beat Federer this year.

Blumberg was the top American recruit to pass on going pro one year ago and opt for the college route. Interesting how both he and his opponent in the finals from UVA both played #2 for their respective schools when both were clearly their teams best player all year. Stacking in college is such a joke! Blumberg should just go pro now.

I fricking knew Haas would beat Fed. Fed better go deep next week or he is going to have no match play going into Wimbledon.
That is a true CSB about Gil Reyes.

He had no match play at all going into Melbourne, which made it even more ridiculous.
But, yeah, grass can be tricky. Very little margin for error if he were to run into someone like Querrey or Anderson early.

Wouldn't this sort of even out? Like, wouldn't their true #2 be more likely to lose if he plays the #1 spot? Or is there more to it?
In our league, the captains go through all this trouble trying to guess what the other captains will do with their lineups, and it usually ends up being a waste of time.

Is it even within the rules to do that? For instance in California high school tennis it is not. Your best player has to play their best player and so on to the weakest doubles team has to play their weakest doubles team.
