I don't really blow money but I just got this job in February. Most people in my unit seem to spend their extra cash mostly on vacations

For one, with the interest, and property tax deductions you can claim withholdings on your I-9 and increase your take home pay. So using your net pay is not necessarily applicable in terms of how much money you could have with each check.

I use something like 13 on my I-9 based on using the IRS withholding calculator and I come pretty close to owing 0 and getting 0 back in taxes in April.
