Bought 200 ounces of silver bullion at $18 per oz. and sold it six months later for $24 per oz. Made $1200. Not too bad for precious metals.
Still have 100 ounces I bought at $20. Still have a long wait on this stack.

In 2021 and 2022 I divested all stock equities. Sold Apple for 450% ROI, Amazon for something crazy, and other mutual funds. I retired in 2017 at 55 and have been converting to bonds. So in 2023 I’m making a sexy 5.8% but this won’t change much over my lifetime and it’s all I need to party like it’s 1979.

How are you going to combat inflation in a portfolio with no equities and a 35 year distribution period?

Good question. Inflation will lower and likely average in the 2.5-3% range, the Fed will insure that. But I also have other sources of income, including Timber harvests. Also, I'm am opportunist like most and if/when there is blood in the market streets, I will likely dabble back in to some extent with attractive entry points.
