You would think so but my background is in financial reporting. Companies would have a fit if they were asked to do this without transition time

Just off the top of my head; A lot would be systems based. You'd be surprised at how inflexible some companies processes are. You'd have to rethink internal controls and testing, update documentation and procedures, understand how this impacts external audits schedules and fees, assume you'd need to restate historical data into bi-annual formats, consider adjusting internal targets for sales teams and any corresponding incentives/commissions. I'm sure there are other things I'm not thinking of. Larger companies would have more resources for this
