Venezuela's President Maduro is apparently giving up on the official currency (the "bolivar") and claims the new national cryptocurrency will help save Venezuela from the evil United States' financial blockade.
It will be "backed" by real assets held by a nearly insolvent government, probably a first for a cryptocurrency.
