I think Turbo Tax is handling it fine. The fields you are shown to fill out aren't explained, but using a little common sense and googling you'll get it.
Essentially, you have to subtract some money from one person and add it to the lower wage spouse. You then go to the lower wage spouse return and do the opposite. You should end up with each person reporting half the income earned.
What I liked about TT is if you preview the 1040 you can see all of those inputs and it doesn't make you do anything else once you work through those aforementioned fields.
HR Block made you fill out one short form, yet you saw no change in your refund or anything else that tells you you're doing it right. I can only guess that HR Block wants you to go back to the W2 screen and manually edit the taxable wages to the 50/50 split number, while leaving all the other numbers that show up on your W2 alone. That just seems unnerving to me and a bad setup.
