I'm doing this soon. Seems like it'll pay for itself in a year or two. Plus, that's just the electric bill. Also need to factor in comfort and wear and tear on the A/C unit. They get overused during Louisiana summers.
Cost kinda sucks though. 5k for 3,000 sq ft house.

Our company actually offers the only Energy Guarantee in the market as far as I'm aware of. We can give the customer a two year guarantee on the electric bill and if it goes a penny over what we guarantee, we'll pay the difference.
The cost and ROI vary from house to house depending on circumstances. One of our clients just built a 12,000 square foot house, paid about $50,000 and is virtually cash flow positive day one.
I'd love to follow up with you and to possibly earn your business if it makes sense and is win/win.
You can reach me at cst@cox.net
Thanks in advance!

Spray Foam Insulation
I've used it twice, both times of older homes built off the ground. I cannot vouch for the energy savings as there really was never a control set of utility bills.
However, the comfort quotient was extremely good, i.e. no more cold drafts oozing up from the floor.
Having now lived with it in two homes for almost 3 years, I recommend it.

What company and product did you use? How big is your house? How much was the total job cost versus what traditional insulation would have been?
That's awesome! I'd love to know more!
What do you do?
I used a local company. All Phase. I used open cell in the roof. Closed cell in the outer walls. In the interior walls between rooms I used regular insulation.
Using foam in the roof & outer walls makes your home like a big foam ice chest. I have been happy with my electric bills so far.
My house is a little over 3000 sq ft living.

Bringing this thread back up with a quick question...
Do yall think it is worth it to install 5" of open cell foam over 3.5" of open cell foam at a 35% price premium in the attic of a southern LA home?
