I won’t be 59 1/2 when I retire. What is the penalty for withdrawal to take it out as a lump some?

I'm surprised you're going to be able to retire at all with all those ZOM and HMBL losses you've been stacking

Normal 457 is accessible penalty-free when you retire from the employer.

Roth 457 is accessible penalty-free at 59 1/2

It will be taxed as regular income. So, you may pay a higher rate if it bumps into higher brackets taken all in one year versus spreading it out. Unless your plan has terrible investment options/fees or you absolutely need the cash immediately, why not keep it in tax differed account? You may be able to rollover to an IRA if it is a govt 457(b).
