None of this has anything to do with inflation.
Ah but it does
Once a retailer or product gets an increased price, it sticks despite it being from a temporary tariff, high transportation cost, or other increased cost. Consumers don’t know all the factors that make up the cost afterall.
Retailers are happy to keep the prices higher as long as they can.

Would you admit it if you noticed?

The fed doesn’t track the cost of goods because they’re concerned about policy driven price dislocations. They track it because they want to know whether the integrity of their currency is at risk.
Talking about those policy driven price increases on certain goods is like your house being engulfed in flames and having the fire department tell you that you’d be a lot more comfortable if you fixed your AC.

Are you calling me a liar? Prices are pretty much always going up to some extent, duh. Nothing I’ve purchased in the last few months seems to be much different.

I think you’re a partisan and therefore look for anything that confirms your bias
If I told you that windows that I ordered went up 30% in one day because of tariffs last august, you wouldn’t believe it

Typical reasoning from a partisan. I’ve purchased windows a grand total of 2 times in 7 decades.

I’m vote conservative but when it comes to the truth, I want the truth.
You only believe what supports your pre conceived belief

I don’t need a TV or car part. I do fill the car up with gas every week.

Then proceed to use examples that most people rarely purchase.

You wouldn’t believe anything I post.
