First off I'd ask him his financial situation. Does he have other investments, retirement, or cash reserve. Then I would be able to give him some more sound advice.

The OP mentions he would be thinking about REI with the mobile homes. I didn't see anything in the thread that would be considered bad REI advice. For what he gave us, I thought this thread went ok.
