I probably should sell my Ranger boat but I keep thinking I’ll get to go fishing “next year” but next year never comes.I was all set to take my boat in to get it serviced and start fishing next spring. Now Laura has ruined that plan,I have at least 75 trees next to my yard and shop that have gotten really tall, now I’m spooked and am going to start cutting them down after deer season. It’s going to be a big job the way I have to do it.
Problem with selling my house and property:1 my wife like it,2-this sounds lame but I just don’t have the energy to go through the process and start over somewhere else.I have put so much time ,energy and money it would be hard to just walk away.
People romanticize the idea of “having a place in the country”,they just have no idea how much work, time and money it takes to have a nice place.I’ve spent $40,000 on dozer work alone, that doesn’t include clearing spot for my house.
My dumbass sister wants to build house out here .As much as I would like her to I tell her she’s nuts. She has 12 acres behind me,she had picked out a spot that would be “beautiful”Now it looks like a B52 bombed it.
Besides, her husband couldn’t tolerate the summer heat.He grew up in Idaho, spent his adult life in Seattle.

I hear you man. I was lucky in that I was able to get a money making operation going on my property. I thought it would put money in my pocket and I'd have a hunting/rec property with a house. But most of the money has gone to property maintenance. I finally bought a tractor to cut pasture maintenance costs...$ up front but will payout in the long run. But bottom line the cost side of rural property ownership was an eye-opener. Wow.
