Go donate plasma to multiple locations. Go to a staffing agency and find or look up "Work Today Paid Today," online in your area or in a newspaper.
Work for 2 to 2.5 days, get the $ you need, quit. Buy your books.

When I was at LSU some office on Campus kept info of people that wanted students to work in their yards. I got some pretty sweet steady jobs from people living in those big houses around the lakes. I guarantee if you go knock on a few doors of those houses and explain your situation you will have all the work you want to make the money.

Just google search the books and look for free pdf copies. You can also sign up for scribd and get a 30 day free trial. They have a ton of pdf books on there. Just cancel your subscription the day after you create it and you'll still have the 30 days of downloading pdfs for free. Use a different email address to do this per semester. Profit.

Did it not occur to you to go to class and ask if anyone wants to share a book for the semester? Split three ways, an expensive book becomes a less expensive one. This used to be a routine thing when I was an undergrad. I think my whole dorm floor shared one organic chemistry book back in the day. Or find someone in class who looks friendly, and pay them a small fee to copy a couple of chapters at a time.
