Rightfully so. I didn’t see the meme explosion that allowed them to convert a ton of debt.

i saw that posted on stocktwits and didnt even see the names... just saying the bots are all telling us to sell on Friday.

Another reason this is going to leave the atmosphere is because of our ability to communicate like no other during a time like this. Think about all the platforms where people are following AMC. The message is strong at frick. DO NOT SELL! 100K

It is posted every second

Obvious bots are obvious, but the original post doesn’t make any sense.

Chinese Media Group, WANDA, sold off the majority of their interest in AMC late last week, dumping millions of shares into the market. Plus the hedgies are still selling artificial shares. There's plenty of shares to be had.
According to Aron, retail hold around 80% of all the shares. Who do you think bought all those WANDA shares? 3.2 million retail shareholders!

Utilization is near 100% and according to Fintel and iborrowdesk.com there are only 35K share available to short.

There isn’t 200MM available without retail selling.

Like I said, don’t trust someone else to hold forever.

Another incredible run up for meme stocks. Wonder how long retail will hold up this time. Almost got to 20 last time, guessing somewhere under there.

Yeah, it only took a bunch of brokers to restrict people from buying! Think that had anything to do with it?

BTW, that resulted in congressional hearings and a lot of eyes opened for the first time. Think they have the balls to try that again?

Other than some blue chip that pays a nice dividend, who holds a stock forever?

Why don’t you explain to the class why retail buying restrictions stopped a short squeeze? I thought it was hedge funds buying to cover that was driving up the price, hence the term squeeze?

Ahh, that’s right, the squeeze was over and it was just retail trading to retail to see who was left holding the bag. The squeeze was over as far as short covering was concerned. Same with GME.

That’s neither here nor there now though. The only important takeaway from that scenario is that retail completely bailed. The idea that they won’t do it again is wonky.

i keep saying there is something to these message boards that constantly have posts about holding, this is not the squeeze. Its getting beat into your head every minute. I think this plays a big factor.

Destroyed FOMO. Retail could not buy, but could sell. Who bought those share? Anymore questions, Professor?

This is lost on most. This isn't the squeeze, but it's coming!

Figured you wouldn’t answer. The squeeze was over with respect to short covering. Plain and simple. Stopping a retail buyer doesn’t stop short covering.

The same will happen here in all likelihood - it will be retail selling to retail while thinking they’re screwing hedge funds that will have already been out of the trade.

Make no mistake, the current hedges will lose their shirt here, but they’re not going to be in the stock with their current positions at triple digits or some BS.

You seem to forget the psychological aspect. If FOMO is running, then gets killed thru nefarious means, a lot of people take profits and run. This was unprecedented. No one knew what else they had up their sleeve. If I can't buy and can only sell, and the hedges that need to cover can buy. What do you think happens to the price? Now throw in the negative propaganda financed by the same people who shorted a company 140%. You do know an analyst placed a $0.01 price target on AMC, right? Do you think he really believes that, or was getting paid to say that?
