I worked for a guy who owned a very profitably business. He put all of this kids on payroll at the family contribution max ($12k or so at the time) and had it send straight to a simple IRA which our company provided, and the company matched 100% contributions (for everyone; huge benefit). I would assume if you setup a LLC and did a similar thing you could do it. Those kids had a pretty solid IRA by the time they were in their late 20s.

I haven't looked into it personally but now that I have two children it is on my radar. I just haven't had an opportunity to talk to a CPA about it. I don't trust a FA to give me legitimate advice.
