This doesn’t strike you as simple minded?
The issue is not debt v no debt. It is, could I earn more in interest than I am in paying in interest. The market is obviously down now so buying opportunities are abundant. Do you really want to miss out on some potential gains simply so you can avoid 2-3% interest over a few years?
