I'd apply ASAP. Like today probably. No telling when it will end, but it won't be long.
+1...And apply even if you already have one and haven't applied for another Barclay card too recently. Barclays pulls from TransUnion - so it basically doesn't matter. Also, you can have multiple cards. I just got my 3rd one, despite the previous 2 still being open. Apparently if your application gets auto approved, the number of cards you have is not a problem. If your application gets reviewed, it will likely be denied for already having the card.

I got the Barclay's World Arrival MC last year because of the 2X points on every dollar. I guess though the $ doesn't translate as well as points toward miles because the cost of flights are sky high right now from my local airport.
Would I be better using my Delta Amex Gold for all purchase instead of the Barclays? If you get 1X miles per purchase, I would have had 200K miles in the last year which would get me at least 4 domestic flights. Couldn't do that with 200K Barclays points. Am I thinking about this right?

I've debated applying for a second. Think I might go ahead and try. It's been 4 months since the first one but I also have the arrival plus. I put a ton of spend on both cards but I don't think that really matters honestly as I think it's really all about that auto approvals.
I'm probably about two years out from looking to buy a new house so I'm going to be limited on my new card apps here shortly so I want to maximize my opportunities.
I feel for you guys going through the mortgage approvals
So damn use to getting 6-8 sign up bonuses a year it's gonna suck being points poor again.

Also as a note. I cancelled my Citi Exec card today. They offered me $100 statement credit and 10k points.
If I didn't travel in premium seating for international travel mostly these days I would've given it some more thought. $350 just didn't seem worth it for admirals club. Domestically i travel SW(the cattle herding bus) almost exclusively out of NOLA due to my companion pass and SW terminals aren't generally favorable for getting to an Admirals Club.

Just checked again. 4 nights Feb 29-Mar 3.
Are you on IHG.com and looking at Thalasso? I don't see those dates and have not seen but 1 day here and there. If I look right now, I don't see anything. I want the over the water bungalows. That's what we did in Maldives.

Unfortunately, no. I signed up at the 80k point offers, so I only had to buy 20k($70) for each account.
That sucks. She will have to buy 30k points then so I guess $105? to get to 100k points. Still a great deal when you consider the room you get

I will have to buy 40k points though to get there, I wonder if there's a limit to how many you can buy... Anyway, $140 for me and then we have 4 nights which is probably worth $3,500-$4,000.
I'm looking to go in April or November as that's the "shoulder" season there. Less people but the good weather

Being that I got the United card last year and will cancel that around July and then got the US Air card in December which will be getting canceled from them (I would do it anyway before another fee) does that hurt my score a little when these 2 cards go away? How long do you think it takes to "recover" from that?
I'm closing on this mortgage in 2 weeks likely, but I will probably refi next year once I get to 80/20 and get rid of PMI, so I want to make sure I don't screw up my score.

The US Air card is going to convert to an American Airlines Aviator card issued by Barclay's so that won't "go away" until you want it to.
Don't patronize me!

The AMEX --> AVIOS pts transfer is already paying off.
Just booked a 1 way ticket DEN - MEM for 9k avios and $5.60
Instead of fricking around with the BA site, I just call them and tell them the site is down. I am 4 for 4 and they waive the $25 fee every time.

AVIOS are tremendous for domestic travel. Maybe the best bargain out there.

Wait times weren't bad? I've heard that complaint so just curious.

Got approved for the US Airways card but had to move some credit from my Arrival card in the process

Yeah I'm on the website and not signed in. I do have the ambassador status but I surf in incognito so they shouldn't see my status but I even went so far as to try and book those 4 nights in March and it would've let me.

The thalasso only has the over water bungalows.
How was the Maldives by the way? I'm putting that on the list but not on the short list due to the travel time and expense to get in to an OWB.

No. You can buy and cancel. I'll explain later on a desktop.

It's pretty incredible to be able to book a $1k night room for 1/10 of what the other 75 rooms are paying

So, I just got approved for my second USAir card on an auto approval. Made my day
. My last app was on Nov, 21 2014 FTR.
50k points in the bank.

Boo this man.
I really hope that the April 17th date holds (and not the other cited 12th). I close on the refi that day so I can apply at the deadline.

I'm surprised they are actually pushing it through so quickly and issuing PR about the merger of programs. Leads me to believe it's pretty much done.

Well damn. Figured I'd try my wife too. She got an "under review". Don't tell her
. She applied on December 4, 2014.
I also sent my self a referral email. I wonder if I'll get the 10k point referral bonus?

I just applied for a credit line for my company and I'm hoping my recent mileage and miles hobby doesn't cause any issues. Yes, I have a bunch of credit cards but they have no balances. Next question please? Hope that's how it plays out. If not, the credit line can wait. It's just a convenience thing for me.

Ya all the things they are sending out are very specific which leads me to believe they could do the merge today if need be
