I've been working in operations at a chemical plant for 26 years. I want to work at least 10 more years, but have gotten tired of shift work. I'm in a position financially to make a change in careers. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Are there not straight day positions in your plant that you can bid to? Usually warehouse jobs.

It's a small plant. There are not many day jobs that open up. You can apply for an opening when available, but like most plants it's pretty political. We are not a union facility so seniority doesn't matter.

There are plenty of plants on HWY 30 that you can hire on to for a day job.

I would make some calls at other plants with potential. No reason to get out of your line of work simply for work schedule
