I wanted to suggest the Kia Telluride. That thing looks sweet.

It is. Just saw them show up on the local lot last week. Have already seena couple driving around. And they have excellent gas mileage to boot.

Wife needs a new car as her 2004 Acura MDX has about 180k miles and starting to have issues. We're looking at the SR5 Premium, but wanted to get any one's thoughts on issues with the 4Runners or where we may be able to get a good deal on a certain trim level. Preferably 3 years used, but the difference between the used and the new aren't that much and it may make sense to buy new if she'll drive it for 10 years. Any thoughts?

Like everyone is saying, a 4Runner is a completely different type of vehicle than an MDX. It's a truck. Go test drive a Mazda CX-9 if you want a Japanese crossover.

No way on earth I would buy a used Toyota right now unless you find EXACTLY what you want at a price point that makes it too good to pass up. In reality you can get far, far better deals buying new.

That said, the Sequoia is getting the TRD treatment next year (if that matters to you). Depends if you will be hauling kids around. The one thing that you will get with the Toyotas is a damn good resell price if you decide to switch later on (have more kids, etc).

If I were in the market for a new car right now I’d be looking at the Kia Telluride or the VW Atlas.

Pulled up next to a grey VW Atlas the other day. Those things are awesome.
