The reason we don't need a bunch of stuff is we aren't sure if once I graduate in may, that we will be attending grad/ law school here in Louisiana or Texas. Or if i take a job with my dads company in Texas. We already have a house that we are renting full of stuff.
Oh...you will one day. You'd be wise to register for stuff even if you have no intention on keeping. Return it and keep gift cards until you buy a home.
Sears is a good place for that as well.

Just register for a bunch of stuff from BBY. They'll give you cash for anything you return on the registry
This. And if you get something not on your registry form BBB, just add it online prior to making the return. Old people like to give useless china as gifts - register for china at BBB and bring it all back for cash.

The money dance is trashy enough; most of your guests are already coming to multiple bridal showers, bachelor/ette parites, some paying to travel to your wedding, and you want them to fork over cash? Cmon! But, some guests, especially guys, will be too lazy to buy anything and will put money in your pocket at the reception. My experience.

Return the gifts for cash or store credit.. Don't be that guy that asks for cash.
