After getting blanked the first time through the lineup, the Tigers pushed 2 across in the top of the 4th. Had a men on the corners with 1 out and Bond grounded into a DP to close the top of the inning.

I had really hoped Bond would have a season similar to Harris' this year.

MU was 27-0 when leading holding a lead after 6. They are now 27-1. Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th, Toelken loaded the sacks, walked across the tying run, and then gave up a 2 run single. Hanna, Bond, and Samples all wore the collar. Have to find some bats/get Misner back.

That was very frustrating game to watch. Between the late start and the fact we should have won.

Oh well. Don't think we get into tourney now.

I called no joy when Toelken walked Cortes. Hanna and Bond flailing at the plate the last 2 months has been tough to watch as well.

The loss dropped them to 6 spots from 38th to 44th in RPI. A win last night would have likely pushed them up to 34th and given them 15 wins vs the top 50. They have to find solutions at 3rd, LF, and CF at a minimum.

Not a chance that we get in. Most were saying we had to win against SC and even 2 more games after that.

Misner will be back in CF no???

I think the easier thing might be to list the positions they don't need solutions to. Misner and whatever position he plays. Catcher might already have an answer with McDaniel who was respectable as a freshman. If Sharp comes back, he'll have a role. No other position is solid, unless you expect someone to take some big steps forward, like Vierling. They might. They just haven't earned it yet.

Misner was playing more 1B at the beginning of the year. When Brumfield shite the bed at the plate, he started playing more CF. I like Misner's length and glove at 1st and and Sharp is by far the best 3rd base glove on the team. Brumfield is what he is at the plate but he is a solid defender. The CF recruit from Georgia will likely factor in to that as well.

Bormet needs to supplant Hanna and I hope they can find a JUCO replacement in RF.

Mister would do himself well to show his athleticism in cf. I don’t mind him at 1b but if I were him I wouldn’t want to be viewed as one.

Does sharp come back? Hope he does. Brumfield is trash unless a defensive replacement in a game.

Sharp is a Jr.

Holt probably gets the first shot in CF and a chance to lead off as a true FR. He can flat out fly on the paths and I don't think Beiser will want to waste his 6.45 60 speed in the corners. Scouts know what kind of athlete Misner is and playing where it best helps the team never turns anyone off.

Bormet making a full recovery may put him in RF leaving Hanna as the primary LF, with Brumfield as the first man of the bench. Beiser is already giving up a lot offensively with the guys he has to put up the middle at SS and 2B. LF can't be that kind of a hole in the LU next year. The staff missed on Jared Wegner from Kearney NE. He is heading to Creighton. He could have come in and starter immediately in LF.

Exactly. He is eligible for the draft this year. I don't think he'll go high but he may well get drafted. Though if Harris didn't maybe he won't either.

I'm fine with that as long as Holt can hit. His speed helps none if he doesn't get on base. And my dog weighs more than him. Our bigger concern is generating offense. The point about first is that besides DH, that is one position you can find and stick a bat at. Someone who could play 3B or OF in high school but not at this level. I'd hate to waste that athleticism Misner brings by sticking him at 1B.

Really doesn't excite me for next year. Really hope some of the guys coming in can step right in and offer more. Hanna was a sub .500 hitter. Bormet slightly better but gets a nod from me because of his youth. Even if Holt turns out to be your man in CF, I think it would be a good sign if Misner holds down the other OF spot and you have a kid like Mann or some other youngster filling in at 1B.
