Thanks. Ticket Office told me it wouldn't, which is weird. I figured as long as you have a ticket you can go through any gate that isn't super specialized.

Not precisely true...like the South Club/Skyline Club elevators (gate 20?).

So we're trying to get our daughter (will be sitting on our lap) to watch the first half of the Georgia State game. We have NEZ tickets, but I'd rather not have to pay for another NEZ ticket and I want to buy an upper deck ticket.

Understood. For a singke, I would just wait until the day of the game and grab one in NEZ online.

If you buy an upper east ticket, use that ticket for you and let your wife go in the north gate.
When you get inside the east checkpoint, go in the stadium and bear right. You will be in the north end.
