This is true; he absolutely didn’t want to coach in the SEC. From a personal standpoint I can hardly blame him - it’s a meat grinder; much less stress in the PAC.

Were there technically 6 people named HC in some form or fashion, for any length of time? No. Actually it was 5 between Holtz (who won a national championship) and Kelly (who made the playoffs twice).
-Davie
-Willingham
-Weis
-O'Leary was only the HC for a couple of weeks before resigning due to lying. No games coached, no recruits, etc.
-Baer only coached a bowl game as an interim, then wasn't retained.
I agree on your broader point about the 3 coaches, but saying 6 is partly wrong and partly hyperbole.
