I was in Baton Rouge last year for the Bama game so I never got to see it on TV until I saw the replay this week. T Toliver had his best game I can remember in an LSU uniform. He caught 4-5 balls and at least 2 of them were 3rd down conversions. He worked the sideline well and didn't drop anything thrown his way. If he can build on this type of performance and become a solid #2 we should have a very good WR core this year.

I am sure we will use all kinds of combinations at WR spots 3-5. We will have lots of bodies to choose from. My question is who will be our best deep threat to replace D Byrd.

Projected Starters WR 1-2:
(Base Power-I)
Brandon LaFell
Terrance Toliver

(Multiple Sets WR 3-5)
Chris Mitchell
Trindon Holliday
R.J. Jackson
Chris Tolliver
Rueben Randle
Jhyryn Taylor
John Williams
Morrris Claiborne
Tim Molton (out for season)

I know Holliday is the fasest player on the team but we have never really used him as a deep threat WR. He has been used more on WR screens and reverses and sweeps. After Holliday, which WR has the best speed and could emerge as our deep threat for the 09 season.

Tolliver was really starting to look good near the end of the season in my opinion...

Unfortunately, J. Lee never seemed comfortable throwing to anyone other than LaFell, and a few drops by receivers who shall remain nameless only solidified his reluctance to throw to them.

JJ seems very comfortable at spreading the ball around, so I look for a lot of different receivers to have good seasons this fall.
