I don't like making it, and it usually doesn't apply, but I think it does here. I think firing a coach after 2 years when he took the team from 2-16 to 9-9 in league play would be a serious deterrent for a lot of coaches.

Sure, if they're not making close to that right now. But I'm not sure we've got $3 million a year to give anybody, especially if we have buy out McMahon. Woody's best skill as an AD is shaking trees and raising money to throw at the best coaches he can. I don't think it's as easy as we think to shake those trees for men's basketball. And I think it's much more due to the apathy of the LSU donor base and fanbase than it is Woody's. Because what in the world would Woody get out of the 2nd most visible program in his department not being as good as it could possibly be? I literally does not make any sense.
