My theory is that JJ had the 'benefit' of Crowton's coaching while Lee pretty much worked on his problems on his own in a vacuum. Being benched was a huge benefit for Lee as Crowton was no longer focused on him. Worse than being a mediocre offensive coordinator, Crowton is a QB killer and JJ is a victim. He doesn't mean to do it, but its just how things work out in a Crowton offense.

I usually don't lash out at coaches but I agree with the rant on this - Crowton needs to go and needs to be replaced with a coach who can mentor QBs. A good QB can make an average season into the great one - especially with the supporting cast LSU offers year after year.

Hopefully Crowton goes soon as I fear that given enough time, he will 'coach' Lee into the next JJ.

No no and no. I promise Crowton coaches Lee too and has been since he's been here.

Sure, he coaches Lee but there's no way Lee got nearly the same attention as JJ did. Most people never expect to see Lee play again - I am sure this may have crossed the coaches' minds too.

JLee almost threw a pick on that slant o Tolliver. It seems he just looks Tolliver. JJ looks so bad, its painful to watch. I do feel bad for the kid. It sucks that Les just watch him go down in flames. They need a Tebow package for JJ. Where was the zone read this weekend? It seems that we just get rid of plays that works. Theres no consistency between both of them.

Have you ever attended a football practice? Anywhere? Your assertion that the QB coach only works with one and the other(s) is (are) just left alone is unfounded, silly and just not true. I am sure you already know that.

Just curious, did Lee attend that Manning QB camp like JJ did?

JLee was picking out apartments in Natchitoches.

And you assertion that open football practices is the only time QBs are coached is laughable at best. Mechanics get worked on in 1-1 sessions with the QB coach. A lot goes into it. You can't tell me Lee got the same treatment JJ did. Its not possible.

Don't think he went to the Manning camp, but I thought I had heard that he worked with Colt McCoy over the summer. Not sure if that's true or not though

I think Jordan Jefferson felt a sense of entitlement over the last year while Jarrett Lee never quit trying to improve himself as a player.

And it is the responsibility of the QB coach to make sure that all are ready to play. It would be folly to just work intensively with one QB while neglecting the primary back up. The ever present possibility of injury precludes that. Your speculation has no merit.

Lee's body of work is more limited than JJ's, so not sure you can draw that conclusion just yet.

I'd like to see something concrete on this partiular assertion. What have you other than empty rhetoric? Practice reports?

My father in law is a photpgrapher for the local paper and was there and tolde that jj was there vut he didnt see jl. He also is scratching his head wondering what happened to jj since then because he sayd that he looks like a different guy in the game than the guy that was at camp who was throwing accurate 60 yarders

Lee regressed last year. He gained a lot of weight, didn't do anything on the sidelines, and looked awful when he played. Over this off season he got his work ethics up and took what he could. Now he looks just as good as he did when he was a freshman. The only difference is now we are comparing him to a worse QB(JJ). I wouldn't say JL is any better than he was two years ago. It's just circumstances..

(I support JL and do want him to play over JJ)

It's all about commitment. Knock on JJ is he hardly ever gives the extra, extra effort (film room, voluntary workouts, etc) like others. JLee made huge strides this off-season, committing to be the best he could be. Look at the shape he came in this fall. Look at the focus on the sidelines, look at the attitudes. Two completely different "want" levels, if you ask me.
