Why is spring practice so early this year?

I think Miles was burned last spring when Ridley got hurt, and wasn't ready until mid-season. I remember him saying that getting spring practice over as early as possible maximizes the chances that guys who get hurt can get well in time for the season.

Ridley healed freakishly fast from that injury. In CFB...usually when someone receives that injury, it tends to hurt them over their career in CFB. It usually takes about a year to recover and play again but some feel it takes 2-3 years to fully heal from a injury like that...
I wouldn't be surprised to see Ridley a lot fresher and with a quicker step than last...he seemed to heal really fast from such a major injury. It kinda lingers in the back of your mind though...our two expected starting RBs are coming off major injuries...
