On Off the Bench this morning, it was mentioned that LSU hasn't offered summer intercession classes in 3 years. So, during CEO's tenure as head coach, this is no longer offered. Why??

Les Miles has lost control of LSU's academic scheduling.

there used to be some small schools(probably still are,) that were famous for sending athletes to miraculously pick their grades up and regain academic eligibility, some of those places, seems like a lot were in states like OK, KS, CO, you could make up at least a full semester's work in less than three months

False. They offered them last year. Check LSU's Course Offerings List and look at the drop down under "Semester/Year". Here's a pic for reference:

Summer intersession is just that small window between summer and fall or spring and summer right? Different than summer session. If I remember correctly there were only a few classes that were offered in those small intercession windows anyways, so it makes sense to drop them if no one was using them.

Right. And the first summer, second summer model generally offers a crap ton of courses from a wide array of majors too. So unless you are studying something heavily specialized, it's never usually an issue.

They changed the format of summer school. It is now 2 6 week terms. In the past there was a 4 week option within the summer that coincided with the regular summer term as well as "intersessions" which usually was between end of regular semesters of about 2.5 weeks. When they went to 2 separate 6 week terms for summer, the timing for those short sessions was disrupted. They still offer intersession after fall and spring, just not after the summer before fall starts.

Whatever the reason, its probably Coach O's fault.

O really needs to step up his game as president of LSU.
