I sent a lengthy to Alleva in response to one of the several e-mails begging me to buy tickets. Pointed out that we (4) had made every home game, and two road game trips, but with the state of the economy, a 401(k) sucking more wind than our pass defense and tenuous job situation, we have had to make cutbacks. I also pointed out that going to LSU games were part of our entertainment budget, and frankly, we were not entertained this year. I have been a Tiger fan for a long time, going to games for longer than many posters have been on this earth, so don't tell me I am falling off of any bandwagon, but it is really hard not to give up on a team that clearly had given up.
My son had a chance to go with some friends, so we paid for his flight as a birthday present, but the rest of us are going to spend our holiday at home, and not wrapping our entire life for a week around the Chicken Bowl.

I haven't been home since the start of the semester...no way I could rationalize going to Atlanta to watch a football game

Two years ago there were 50--FIFTY!!--Full Time/Fully Sponsored teams fighting for 43 spots at every race. Now, there may be a few races in 09 that need "field fillers." Tens of thousands of empty seats at popular races like Talladega, Las Vegas, Michigan, and Texas.
