The winner is the one who just pwned you in your own thread. There's nothing funnier than a ranter starting a thread and then getting abused in it. But I wouldn't expect anyone from Mississippi to really get it.
I'm from New orleans, hehe. Do you really think where anybody lives makes them dumb or smart, do you really? Tiger_n_ATL I will ask this board myself. Who makes you shake your head everytime they say something? Let the board decide.
Oh and BTW, I don't think I can sleep tonight after your response, you are incredibly witty. Man I wish i could be you for a day. No really.

But in all due respect for a fellow Tiger fan, I'll be sure not to start a thread to call you out when Les Miles fricks something up again.
of course he'll frick something up somewhere down the road. ALL COACHES DO, esp when they are given all the blame for every little hiccup the team experiences. you could make the same case that saban fricked up against us and esp. against USCE. i implore you to judge miles on his entire body of work and also include his recruiting and postive molding of our players (incl their propensity to graduate and stay out of trouble).

You're making a point that is WAY more polarized than it should be. Miles was handed a golden platter, true. He did not, however, nearly destroy it. He won a national championship in 2007. He had a down year in 2008 due to the departure of the entire defense, two quarterbacks and a DC. He had a solid (if unspectacular) year in 2009 in the rebuilding phase. Now he's set to have a very good (2005-2007 good) year in 2010.
I'll agree that he's not a great coach from a strategic standpoint. It's pretty obvious that he makes calls that no other coach in America would make. Tom Osbourne went for 2 in the national championship game instead of kicking the XP and playing for overtime. Miles makes calls like that on a weekly basis.
But he has coached his team to a 10-1 regular season record admist a hurricane. He won a national championship, he's reached a 10-win season with two games left to play while coaching around his quarterbacks for the first 8 games of the season. He pulls in recruits like nobody's business.
No, Les Miles is not the stone-faced disciplinarian or the tactical general that people feel he should be. If that is your expectation, then I can see why you believe that he should be gone sooner rather than later.
But he runs a clean program, his players love to play for him. He has a very impressive win/loss record both overall and in conference. If you're a process-oriented fan, Miles annoys the shite out of you because he seldom follows conventional wisdom. But he is unconventional and it works for him.
I've argued this point with you for so long that you can recognize that my position is nothing new. Miles remained in my good graces by a single thread after the Tennessee game. But now I have found that my faith was rewarded.
Miles is not the virus to LSU football. He is a very good coach who knows the strengths and weaknesses of the entire team, himself included. He does what he does because he has the faith in his team that they will do this. That speaks volumes to me.
I will not say that Miles' future is secured. He could very well falter down the line and lose his job. But at a time when 2008 and 2009 can now be recognized as the natural ebb and flow of conference powers, I think he has secured his place for the next few years.
So suffer if you must while Miles continues to post wins in closer than they should be games, while at the same time making insane calls that produce amazing results to win the big ones. Your position will never change... I will alter mine on a case-by-case basis.
great post.

Not very open minded are you?

his debacles have been documented on film for millions to see not one, not two but four or five times or more as proof of this fact.
Four or five times? No exact number? Four or five mistakes! You are attacking a man over four or five mistakes!! Re-read that and see how idiotic it sounds. Yet I noticed that you conveniently ignored his brilliant decisions in difficult situations. Go figure.
quote:
we are stuck with the guy no matter what, it doesn't mean I have to like him to support the team.
And LSU is fortunate to have him. Your support of him is absolutely inconsequential to the success of LSU football. Your continued blind hatred of Les Miles does rob you of credibility and paints you as a chronic complainer.
quote:
So MsGoofballDouchebagTigerFan with your head in the sand and your borderline pathetic platitudes for Les Miles, who most in the CFB world recognize as one of the poorest tactical, strategic, and X's and O's coach in the history of college football
Now you have to back that up. Most? Like what percentage? Define the football world. And, no, the buddies at your favorite bar don't count. Give me more than that. Give us proof of the veracity of that statement. Was there a poll taken? Who were the respondents? Give us some evidence that your statment is more than the raving of a confirmed hatred driven individual. You made a blanket statement. Back it up or reveal yourself as basically a know-nothing blow hard.
quote:
who had a golden platter laid out in front of him and still managed to almost destroy it,
And who has taken that platter and has won almost 80% of the games. By any acceptable standard, that is better than just good. Do you realize that Lombardi won just around 75% of his games, Bowden 72%, Bryant 76%? You are letting personal animosity cloud your judgement.
quote:
because the chickens will come home to roost eventually, and they will believe me.
That is hysterically funny. Sort of like a mother telling her kid to stop crossing his eyes because one day they won't uncross. A prohpet is never without honor........................... Man that is funny.
I don't know what drives your hate filled posts. I suspect that you are really a rabid fan of a team that Miles has embarassed. In which case you have carried the grudge to mentally unhealthy levels.
Maybe you are a poor lonely soul that craves attention and this a way of gtting it. In that case, it is just sad.

You do realize that Tger_n_ATL has no clue about what you just said. It's impossible for him to understand it. It would take common sense for him to be able to do that.

Coach Les Miles averages 10 wins per season. He is elite among coaches especially considering he has this record within the SEC.
