Laron Landry and some QBs highly disagree.

"russell shepard is one moderatly severe knee injury away from being completely useless.

how does that not make any sense."

It makes total sense- if you have a loser's mentality.

Put the players on the field that give you the best chance to win. RS will not be starting at QB this year. Utilize his talent at other positions.

Life isn't all about playing it safe. This kid has a chance to be special. Let him do his thing.

RS returning Kickoffs and Punts?

It's a dumb idea...get over it and move on. Shepard is one snap away from being #2 on the depth chart...he is two snaps away from being our starting qb. Trindon is decent and I'd put Murphy back there and tell him that the 'time is now.'
And whoever said that Mike Vick wasn't fast or shifty needs to cruise on down to lenscrafters.

brodie croyle, sure...

if a qb takes a 3 step drop locks his knees and freezes like a deer in headlights as his offensive line totally steps out of the way then yes...

of course a hit like that probobly happens once or twice per year in all of college football.

And you're one car accident away from being paralyzed.

Accidents on the football field happen. That's the way it is. Correct me if I'm wrong- we signed RS to play football for LSU?

Why not use him?

the saints signed reggie bush to play football.

can you think of someone on the saints team who'd be better at returning kick?

and yet!!!

the point is, returning kicks isn't a fine art. see hole, run through hole. if no hole hold on to ball for dear life. why risk the most talented player on the team?

If the most talented player isn't playing that much, why not use him?

I don't think I'll convince you. I don't mean this to be offensive at all, but you strike me as a person, who is very safe and secure and doesn not like to take any risk in life.

And that's fine. Seriously, I'm not making fun of you. But when it comes to football, aggressive is the way to go.

What if Jordan Jefferson does a great job and is a solid starter for us? Are we just going to waste RS' talent?

I wouldn't be surprised if we see it. Our coach is aggressive, thank god, and we've had some very exciting games to watch because of his aggressive nature.

frick watching a conservative football team. I want action. Life is not meant to be boring or without risk.

And yet, Bush won a game on a punt return a few years ago.

Of course, players running coverage on special teams are more expendable than starters, but you're not talking about skill positions. RS would be in a skill position.

let me start by saying this is the gayest thing ive ever read.

2nd, thats fine, on ncaa you let sheppard return kicks till your hearts content. but in real life IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

He could do both very well. Although, if you had to choose which one was safer, punt returns would be far more dangerous.

You're logic is totally flawed.

looking forward to reading your explanation on this.

also can't wait to hear you logic behind why reggie bush is allowed to do (according to you!) the more dangerous of the 2. or why then dosen't reggie return kicks?

So, let me get this straight? I'm gay because you're worried about one of our football players getting hurt? Yeah, that makes sense.

Second, I don't play video games. I don't have a problem with people who do, but I have no idea about your little computer game stats.

What are we betting on? I just think it would be a good idea. But Christ, it's been a long time since I sat next to a kid on a bus, who says "Oh yeah, I'll betcha a hundred dollars!"

LT plays on nearly every down on offense. RS wouldn't be in on every play.

Again, your point?
