He took a greyshirt. So he was recruited by Saban, but it was Miles' decision to uphold his scholarship.

The fact is that without Saban we would not be where we are today because he LOCKED down Louisiana recruits.

With that said, Miles has sustained the program and continued to maintain the top recruits in the state and pull in top recruits from surrounding states. As long as Miles continues to have top recruiting classes LSU will dominate.

Since Miles has come to LSU we have had a better offense and the defense is strong but I would have to say that Saban is probably a better Defensive guy.

If I had to compare the two I would say:

1) Saban vs Miles (recruting) equal
2) Saban vs Miles (Offense) Miles>>Saban
3) Saban vs Miles (Defense) Saban>Miles
4) Saban vs Miles (Character) Miles>>>Saban
5 Saban vs Miles (Future Success) ?

I am die hard LSU fan and I hate the fact that Saban went to Alabama, but I respect the success that he has brought to LSU because without him we would probably not be where we are today. Saban brought this program to the top from rock bottom and no one can take that away from him. Could Miles have locked down Louisiana if he were put in the same situation as Saban? I am not so sure and we will never know. All that matters to me is that he was able to maintain this program and dominate from the start.

With that said, I hope we kick Sabans arse and send him back wishing he would have never left.

you are right that he was a grey shirt, but wrong that he was a Saban recruit... I'm pretty sure Miles shored up Trindon late in that class - not Saban
