yeah usc won 5 in a row in the 70's. since their last title with legend rod dedeaux in 1978, they've only won 1, and that was in 1998

You can sort on wikipedia by most championships, and appearances, and they have a table of most games won at the CWS

omaha ships?

Whoever decided that "ships" as short for championships was cool needs to be de-testicalized.

Well hopefully PM will catch USC before he retires. I think he has alot more seasons left in him before he hangs it up.
He will outlast Augie because he will either go to jail for to many DWI's, drink himself to death or retire (I hope he retires).

Once PM hangs it up, he will take over the AD job hopefully make a better hire than Laval

Here's to you PM in hoping that you can do the impossible and catch us up with USC by 2020.

no offense to PM but winning 7 NC's is a pretty hard thing to do

i don't see any way that happens. college baseball today has much more disparity than it had even when skip coached. if PM is able to win 2-3 more before he's done, that would be nothing short of amazing. mainieri is also 52ish, and i wouldn't expect him to coach more than 10 more years. no way he wins 7 in 10 years

No one would'ev thought that John Wodden would have won 10 basketball titles in a row either. Just saying! I was taught as a kid that you never say never for when you do it comes back and hits you in the face. I would not bet on it either but it is not impossible for him to do it. He keeps bringing the young men that he is bringing in now and he just may pull it off. I BELIEVE WE HAVE THE BEST BASEBALL COACH IN ALL OF COLLEGE BASEBALL. JMHO!

i like your optimism but the scope of athletics in every collegiate sport is night and day different than it was 30+ years ago. i too think PM is the best coach in the country, but there's no way he wins 7 titles
