When the game is a Toss up --- don't toss it up

I am purely, purely sure Les Miles's success was based on fundamentals and talent.

1 -- Coaches get a lot of money .. and their season's typically come down to x number of plays ..

Lessons of Washington-Auburn IS: when there is a toss up game,

1- Don't play stupid (penalties, QB's tossing it up)

2- There will be perfectly called plays JUST defended by the slightest hand … All analysis is out of the window when everything is right for a TD, but slight hand deflects the pass to the open guy …

OOOr.. ND Winbush throws into double coverage in the endzone, but low and behold, the receiver JUST gets higher than the oncoming safety .. Touchdown ND!

So many plays determine the game that go against every analysis or just the slightest timing .. Smart Nick Saban always obsessed over size .. he knew inches mattered

3- Field Goals … and special teams..

With all these games really being determined by the slightest timing of every happenstance … if they are so influential to the outcome .. of course a whole series of play .. called SPECIAL TEAMS is all so important..

Les Miles had special teams, he had the big uglies .. he knew he'd win more than lose if the fundamentals was right as few could wallow a Tiger...

We have toss up games coming up, let's hope good play of penalties and special teams can push us past the most of the toss up games...
