Flynn and JR have done this with much more experience than JJ has, so it's not out of the question.
true.
but from the limited time JJ has had playing/starting, he doesn't make me hold my breath when he drops back to throw.
he seems to be quite careful with the ball for the most part.

the guy had trouble reading Auburn's coverage scheme
his reads were fine, but he did miss some throws

I thought a change at QB would have caught them off guard
yeah if Flynn were put in to do some running. I actually wanted Jimbo to give that a shot at times in 06 til we arrived at the KW/ Hester combo

I'm all for him playing play more than 1/4 of the offensive snaps if he's as good as advertised, just not as a QB. there are other ways to get the ball in his hands.
Shepard has been compared favorably to both Vince Young & Terrelle Pryor.

other than he's about 20 lbs lighter and a foot shorter.. but yeah he has poor throwing mech(which can be fixed) and he likes to run and he's black... so yeah he's comparable.

quote:see that is a misconception because I am not sayin Flynn would have been better, just that they were prepared for JR and not Flynn, no 2 QB's are the same, in this case def not.
what evidence leads you to believe Flynn would have been better?

is 56% passing good enough to win games with?

+10000000
it would have potentially thrown them off.

quote:now your reading my mind because his running def paid dividends the year before against Miami, Auburn was prepared for Russell, but not him is all I'm sayin.

FWIW.. JL was at 53% on 270 attempts
JJ 49% with 73 attempts.

fwiw, how many games did lee get to play, and how many did jefferson get to play?

yeah, but we will never know about 06, but if you have great athlete's like Shep, I agree with you, they should be used in any capacity.

+1
he needs to have the ball in his hands at least 5 times a game or more.

how does games played equate to pass completion percentage.??..
JL roughly played in 3 times more games than JJ did last year... oddly enough he attempted 3 times as many throws.
Point is in like caliber PT, percentage wise they threw basically same amount of passes.
JL was at 53%.
JJ was at 49%.
I didnt make those up doc, if you like google it and see for yourslef.
Im no saying that is a huge difference and sure there are other factors that could be thrown in to aruge either guys point.
But thats pretty cut and dry right there.

But I have a major problem w/ the fans who have berated Jarrett Lee and treated him worse than any LSU player in recent memory.

Oh & would beat the living hell out of either one of them in a footrace. All 3 were Elite 11 QBs. Of course I expect you to be gone when JL leaves, as you have no respect for yourself or LSU.
