What will Nick Coomes’ role be this year?

With 13 days until opening day, #13 was very good last year before getting hurt. It’s interesting that I haven’t heard a lot about him this preseason. What do you see his role being this year? He will be a senior on a young team.

Part time catcher maybe DH. Also first base part timer.

He will probably catch all the 2nd midweek games on the weeks we have 5 games. He may mix in a few weekend games every once in a while. Could also slot in at 1st base if we need a taller guy there but Slaughter is doing well at 3rd. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 PAs.

Dude can swing the bat. If we don't hit as well as I think we will, then coach may find a spot for him during SEC schedule. Dude has power.On the other hand if we hit as well as expected he may sit on pine and be lost in the numbers .
