I disagree. I'm of the opinion that ticket scalping is one of the last bastions of pure capitalism.
I read an article in SI (probably 20 years ago) that talked about these guys that travel from event to event. Some of these guys take money from buyers before they even have the ticket, so they've got to speculate on what they'll pay for the ticket, and be right, to make a profit. Back in the day, these folks had "corporate clients" so to speak, who would front money to them to make the buys.
I'm sure with the innerwebz, things are different now, but I always thought scalping should be legal.
BTW, I've only scalped one ticket in my life (and was scared to death doing it lol). LSU vs. Illinois Sugar Bowl.
I've paid scalpers prices 3 or 4 times.
