This could actually happen (unlike LSU deliberately losing the SECCG).

We still play GA in SECCG...but Bama gets in without playing?

Or does Oregon jump both if they win out?

If Oregon and Utah win out, the winner is the 4th team unless LSU loses to UGA. We would then be 4th.

Auburn beating UGA would get Bama back to the 4th spot, but they won’t stay there.

A one loss Oregon (loss to a 4 loss Auburn assuming Bama beats Auburn)

Gets in over a one loss Alabama (only loss to #1)

Hmmm...

Auburn has a very good shot at beating Bama. At least they have a win over a top 10 team.

Oregon would be the PAC 12 champ. What is Bama other than the SEC West runner up?

Oregon would be conf champ, unlike an Alabama.
So LSU, Clem, tOSU and Pac Champ

They’ve been that before and got in.

I’m not advocating Bama to get in. Just tossing around a scenario.

Realistically, for Bama to get in, both the Big 12 and PAC 12 champs would need to have 2 losses. Also, what about Minnesota? They could finish with only one loss. They should jump Bama as well.

Auburn is just as likely to beat Bama as Georgia.

1st game of the season, neutral site, and Oregon had Auburn beat for 3 quarters before having a transient melt down in the 4th quarter. Oregon would be a conference champion. Alabama would have a weak schedule and a loss at home in a game that they never led in for their resume.

Then why not rank Oregon at 5 instead of Bama?

They got in over a 2-loss Ohio State in 2017.
