I hate playing what ifs but this one changes little. We beat Troy and we still finish third in the SEC west.
What if we had beaten Troy? We're likely playing Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl.
It would be nice not having the Troy loss attached to the program though.

The loss to Alabama was more costly than the loss to Troy. It cost the Tigers a spot in the SECCG, at the least.
A victory in the SECCG would have likely sent the Tigers to the playoffs, even with the Troy humiliation.
