Because the modern 3-3-5 is really like a modern 3-4 with a safety playing OLB...

and the Modern 3-4 is really like the old 4-3 with a "rush linebacker" playing a stand up DE...

There will still be 7-8 "in the box"; It's not like there are 3 DL and cloud coverage the whole game.

This:

I would think picking up blitzes would be the bigger story here.

WVU hasn't really shown much this season, but from past experience, our defense does a good job of disguising coverage and who is blitzing.

I'm really hoping to see us blitz come corners and our spur & bandits (safeties).

To the W.V. fan who posted the video. What I saw in the video was:

Geno is accurate when given time.
Devine is fast and shifty in space.

but what I also saw was:

Maryland's O-line is crap
Maryland's tackling ability was maybe the worst I've ever seen
Maryland's defense was out of position on ever play

A few things about LSU:

We have a pass rush
Your receivers won't be as wide open as against Maryland
We have a great secondary
Our defense is fast at every position
Can Geno pass while under pressure?
This game will be loud and the crowd will definitely be a factor

So far he has exceeded many of my expectations for him regarding staying cool under pressure. He does a great job of stepping up in the pocket while keeping his eyes down field...this is something we WVU fans are not used to. Pat White normally just shot out of the pocket like a bullet at the first sign of pressure and our QB last season would just run around in circles and then over throw the receiver.
