He figured with Trent Richardson he could probably score from the 25. I actually figured Bama would have the advantage going into OT. Who knew they would go backwards.

That's where I had a different take - once Reid made the interception, I knew it was headed to OT. I knew we would win OT because of the kicking duel we already won.

After the game, I saw the reports that the cold breeze was affecting the FG kicks, and that's why, even as close as the 37, 38 (heck, had we made a FG from 37, a 54, we would have won in regulation, ditto for scoring a TD instead of a FG to close out the half), LSU was punting.

Why Bama continued to attempt long FGs is beyond me. While we didn't benefit directly from it, they never got that field position back.

So you are saying that a team that had not put a ball into the endzone all game and was consistantly missing field goals had the advantage in OT?

I see this as an epic fail. Yet another coaching blunder by Saban (Maze returning punt, etc.). Saban's coaching blunders get overlooked but Miles gets crucified. If you ask me who was the MVP of this game, it was Miles. Saban was outcoached (yet again), but the media will never admit it.

Miles did it against UGA in the first half in '09, Inexplicable for both coaches.

The Reid INT also probably took at least 3 off the board.
The ball would have been at the 1 and Bama would have likely scored 7. LSU showed no ability to score a TD all night. This would have been game, set and match for Bama.

Except we got the ball to the ~5 yard line, twice (once in regulation).

I thought the play call in ot for tr on the wheel route was a great call, mccarron just didnt execute. On the other hand, 2 timeouts & the ball with a minute left & your own D playing very well but you settle for ot- that was the bonehead move of the game. Your D is playing great but you still dont even give your guys the chance to win in regulation- bad move, nick. He was playing not to lose- instead of playing to win.

So LSU had "no ability" to score...even when a pass tipped RR hands in the endzone?
