I mean do you have any evidence that coaches are being paid for "what they did and not what they're going to do"
when did Miles get his raises?

I'd like to get paid 4 mill a year to beat ms state, auburn, and South Carolina.
Also, Western Kentucky.
you left out A&M, arkansas, ole miss, and florida. but im sure that was just a typo
ETA: just because i know im going to have to explain it to you....he has winning records against all those teams

So, he gets paid to win?
Does he know that?
Does he know that?

And why exactly do you two dipshits think that he gets a raise when his performance hits a new level IE winning a national championship? So he can take a vacation for a few years and mail it in or so we can retain a coach who, in theory, should be coaching at a championship level? I can't even believe I'm actually sitting here explaining this to people

You're always saying how even you think it may be time for change yet you're always the one rushing to Miles defense on ANY argument that's being brought up. If you think everyone you talk to is an idiot then maybe it is you that is the idiot. The only way we'll ever be able to get you to let go of Miles would be to castrate the man.
There is no excuse for our offense to have the same deficiencies year in and year out no matter what his salary is. Great coaches also have problems but great coaches see those problems and fix them. Miles seems to have a problem doing this mostly due to his own hardheadedness and being unwilling to make the changes that are obvious to everyone watching. I've been up and down on Miles and wish he could've made the necessary changes to the offense that would allow us to succeed and allow him to keep his job here but if he hadn't done it by now I don't think he ever will so why keep wasting time thinking so.

I'm beginning to think that you've spent your entire life digging ditches and don't understand how a company is run. I'm sorry that you're too stupid to understand what a salary increase implies. I really am

LMAO. You have thousands of retards calling for you to be fired and you don't think it should affect the coaches or players? Are you guys delusional. I personally think you should be fired White Tiger.
I agree that it would wear you down, I just hope he shows some emotion and fires those boys up. I know its not his nature, but can he tear into ANYONE on the sidelines and show gametime passion? Not just in the press conference after, but gametime passion.

He is at a loss. He really didn't see any on this coming which is more alarming. That is what the scary part about him is. If you don't know what is wrong how do you fix it? How do you think the players are feeling right now. They probably have no confidence anymore in what they are doing.
I think its been that way...remember Russell sheperds tweet after the NT game..."Man I got in for like 3 plays?" They love him to death like a father figure because most prob dont have a real strong father figure in the home, and les does that well... but the fact is he is stubborn as a mule and his offenses are offensive to watch... its his undoing in the end.

Les looks and appears to be worn out and he just doesn't seem the same. Very monotone. Like he has given up.
How many times have we seen this exact same thread over the years?? You guys are so desperate for this to happen. It must be torture

I always love the "baw".... It's a 20 year old college kid that thinks he is cool and knows it all. They should take a look at the 8 coaches ahead of miles and compare coaching production/performance.
Fwiw I think its best for Miles to step down this year. Now is the time. He has definitely lost that edge....but he had a hell of a run....the best in LSU history. Its just time now and here's to a truly great man who did a hell of a job at LSU.

Exactly.
Year in and year out with the same problems, it's not his fault. It's the AD's.
Miles should have been given the heads up after 2011.

His undoing was his fascination of the dual threat qb in a pro style offense. Square peg round hole.
Posted on 11/19/15 at 1:29 pm to southeasttiger113
Company is "ran". Also...compare/contrast the eight coaches ahead of miles...think they have all had more success than miles?
Posted on 11/19/15 at 1:31 pm to southeasttiger113
Is that why drew brees got paid? I could name several athletes in a decline mode that got paid huge sums of money based upon previous accomplishments. Wow you are one dumb kid.

Well, well, well. What do we have here? Is Tigerinthehollow daring to question Les Miles???

Correct.
Aggies D is gonna have a career game vs this offense.

quote:How many of those coaches had the 9th highest salary in the country? How many of those coaches had some of the best facilities and the biggest/best stadium in the country? How many of those coaches had the advantage of LSU being a huge, popular national brand with the ability to draw in recruits nationwide (and before you attribute this to Miles, it's not his doing. I've lived out of state since 2005 and we were very well known to athletes nationwide by then)? How many of those coaches followed up someone like Nick Saban who had just won a national championship and built the program from the ground up?
Also...compare/contrast the eight coaches ahead of miles...think they have all had more success than miles?
First of all, how is your question even relevant to this discussion? It's great that you think that LSU is going to go back to Hallman after Miles leaves but we're now a different school in a different era. There's no reason that we shouldn't be the next Ohio State who makes a home run hire and puts a lot of money on the table for our next coach after Miles leaves, whether that's sooner or later. I'm so tired of seeing the same scared loser arse mindset from some of the fans asking "how we'll ever do better than Miles after he leaves"

Do any of you pay attention to college football outside of LSU? Have you seen where coaching salaries are nowadays?
He's still in the top 10 highest paid coaches.......is he a top 10 coach going FORWARD? Disregard past record. Will he be a top 10 coach next year?
Coaches who make more
Urban Meyer
Nick Saban
Kevin Sumlin
Bob Stoops
Jimbo Fisher
James Franklin
Jim Harbaugh
Charlie Strong
Most of those are justified save for Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin.
Franklin inherited Penn St. while it was under probation, and you also have to take into account what the assistants make.
