Unsung Heros

Last night was incredible with big players making some big plays. However, there were more than few of our guys that played out of their mind that will probably slide under the radar.
5. Tharold Simon - Claiborne is a freak. He's a better cover corner than PP7 (I said it.) But Simon had a great game last night. He completely blanketed Maze and Hanks when they were on his side of the field. We struggled getting constant pressure on McCarron but our downfield coverage, especially by Simon, kept the intermediate and deep passing game in check.
4. Kevin Minter/Lamin Barrow - Our two young LBers had been getting more playing time leading into the Alabama game and really showed up last night. They played more last night than in any game this season and did a great job of plugging the gaps, wrapping Richardson, and swallowing blockers. The future is bright at linebacker
3. Michael Brockers/Bennie Logan - Alabama's rushing game starts with getting pressure up the middle and Brockers and Logan shut this down. Both guys were constantly getting penetration in the middle and making Richardson and Lacey adjust their runs. They won't have the stats, but this was their best game of the season.
2. Brandon Taylor - Most underrated player on our team. He made play after play after play last night. His run support is a huge reason we kept the Alabama rushing game in check.
1. The guy who convinced our kickers that they're better than everyone else on the planet - Our team is cocky, but no one is cockier than our kickers. Saban ices Alleman right before the biggest kick of his life? Alleman just smiles and shakes his head. Then he buries the kick, tells the Alabama student section to quiet down and pretends he's an airplane in the middle of Bryant-Denny.

1. Mike Ford - He consistently gained chunks of yards on the ground and was crucial to both of our scoring drives (1 FG we started on their 15 and he didn't get any touches)

Nail on the head my friend. Tharold had a couple of mistakes in the first half but other than that he balled. Bennie and Brockers, especially Bennie, were Center and OG eaters last night. Kevin Minter had a really solid and under the radar game last night. I don't remember Lamin in there though but I do remember Tahj Jones playing. And what can you say about Brandon Taylor. He was one of the Defensive MVP's imo. You would think he played OLB if you didn't know any better because he is so sound in run support.
