I hope our game against them next year doesn't get canceled or anything. Will be more interesting than the typical rent-a-win game

If I recall correctly,Tommy Bowden & Rich Rod took Tulane to 12-0/Top10/national prominence and both used that later as a stepping stone for the Clemson (Bowden) & West Virginia (Rich Rod) gigs.

I wanna say the Shaun King (QB) years. Fun team that threw it all over the yard.

They don’t benefit at all. They just go out there and get embarrassed. Play 1 or 2 then schedule some winnable OOC games.

They absolutely do benefit. That money is the only thing keeping the program afloat. They would love to not have to play all of those games to get embarrassed. They can't afford not to.

I dont see how people cant see this. ULM has like zero boosters. If they cant generate a little revenue thru the butt whippings they will go under.

Not as sold on Bowden, but Rich Rod can certainly coach offense. He might not be the best head coach, but he knows how to scheme and move the ball. Should inject some excitement for ULM.

And considering his offense and most Louisiana high school offenses, he'll always have the talent he needs to run it, especially at QB.

Then why don’t they just move to FCS?? The south land would take them. You still get money games in the FCS.

Somewhere I still have a national championship shirt from NLU in the 80s floating around. I loved going to those games as a kid back then. The environment in the stadium was fantastic, and they put good teams on the field. I also got to see some future legends come in from other schools. Saw Steve Air McNair, as well as Daunte Culpepper, as opposing quarterbacks. Nothing beats LSU football in Tiger Stadium, but there is something kind of magical about smaller school ball when played at a higher level in a packed small stadium.
