It’s a 100% fair premise

Here are the steps in the arguement.

1. People bash O for losing to a SunBelt Team
2. O pumpers come and and say”Saban Lost to UAB and ULM, why does he get a pass”
3. O haters say “because he won the SEC the next year in 2001 and Played in the SEC Championship game in 2008”

So clearly O can earn a pass this year, and if he does Troy should be forgiven. If he doesn’t O Pumpers need to not compare O to good coaches till he actually does something good.

The point that I am trying to make is. Saban lost to UAB and ULM in his first years at LSU and Alabama. That means to me, that you are vulnerable to be beaten when you are trying to establish your culture or program. And you haven't yet gotten your type of players into your program. I assume that most of those players probably wouldn't start for Nick Saban today. Or even be recruited by him. You probably could combine the rosters of UAB and ULM today. And Alabama with the horses that he has right now will beat the breaks off of them. And Nick Saban didn't have to face a Nick Saban type of coach until Urban Myer came along.
