Robert Griffin 3 took a Baylor team to a 9-3 record and is on the verge of a 10 win season. He had heisman moments all season long. His team is not nearly as talented as the team's he has faced and he was a BEAST. It truly is RB3 and TM7.. then everyone else in terms of DESERVING.

I agree with the gist of this. The one fly in the ointment is TM7's suspension which, of course, did and should have hurt him. Further, they did maul an Auburn team without him in a game that featured his replacement doing a pick 6. Most of "his plays" are created ex nihilo.

Good read. And we get him for at least one more year.

Good points, yeah the author did leave out any of the chinks in Mathieu's armor, and I agree that his suspension alone for synthetic weed pretty much eliminates him from receiving (I won't say 'taking') the Heismen.

But the beautiful thing is the recognition in the article, and like you said, is that Mathieu creates his stats ex nihilo without specific plays being run for him, or through him--just purely a guy making plays.
