Neither reached an ideal result because both situations began with a problem: a bad hire at a coordinator spot. Once you've made that mistake, it is virtually impossible to reach a "successful" outcome; at best you are aiming to minimize the damage. The question can't be answered just in this season, either, because the ramifications of how the coaches are handled can impact who you can get to replace them. If Tuberville's midseason panic puts off some quality candidates who don't like the idea of having half a season to produce results "or else!", then it will cost him in the long run. And even if you think that is a small factor, ask yourself this: how many coordinators out there do you think are attracted by the idea of a head coach who will fire his coordinators halfway through their first season if their offense/defense isn't working well already?
