What the band may lack in halftime "flare" or whatever, it totally makes up for in how much it plays in the stands and supports the team.
I agree 100%. There is no band in all of college football who does this better than TGBFTL. LSU's band interracts with the fans way more than other college bands do.

Yeah you are right. No way in hell TGBFTL could beast a latin tune like that.

The Tiger Band is doing an Aerosmith show this week, for what it is worth...

I was really disappointed with the halftime show they did in last year's BCSCG. I was hoping they'd show up the OSU band, but they went with the damn Latin show again.

You're right. I guess I was thinking about the Sugar Bowl the year before.

did you go to the sec championship ... we did a latin show there.. and you may have been mad about the latin show at the sugar bowl but if you think about it over half of the stadium had never seen it....plus ND did a show they had played for like 5 games... so Im sure there fans were just as mad.

The last time I heard Troy's band was in 2004 when they came to Baton Rouge.
I wasn't impressed.

Malaguena and all the Latin/Spanish stuff was really popular back in the 70's/80's. The Drumline and all the other "Corps Jocks" in Tiger Band couldn't get enough of it. The Spanish/Latin show was usually the one we played when another SEC band came into Tiger Stadium and the one we took on the road. Times (And DCI) have changed and you don't hear it as much. I would love to hear Troy make an attempt to bust a Malaguena or Malaga. What's TB doing this week, Broadway Musical tunes or some such nonsense?
Ya know, I've always been of the opinion that TGBFTL should be under the ATHLETIC DEPT, and NOT the MUSIC SCHOOL. You hire a kick arse band director whose sole responsiblities are football and basketball band. He/She would not have to waste any time with all that symphonic band/wind ensemble BS. Put all band members on full athletic scholarships, increase practice to 5 days a week at a full two hours a day. The results: much more creative and entertaining halftime shows.........

I was about to post that it would ne nice if they had as many people in the stands as they do band members.
